The Coupons feature in WP Travel allows you to offer promotional discounts on your trips. You can create percentage-based or fixed-amount discounts, limit coupons to specific trips, assign them to individual users, and control how many times they can be used.
This guide explains how to create, manage, and edit coupons in WP Travel.
Add a Coupon #
To create a new coupon:
- Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to WP Travel โ Coupons.
- Click Add Coupon.
- Configure the coupon settings.
- Click Publish.
You can also edit an existing coupon by hovering over it and selecting Edit.
Coupon Settings #
1. General Settings #
The General section contains the primary coupon configuration options.
- Coupon Status: Displays whether the coupon is currently Active or Expired.
- Coupon Code: Enter a unique coupon code that customers will enter during checkout.
- Coupon Type:
- Percentage Discount โ Applies a percentage discount.
- Fixed Discount โ Applies a fixed monetary discount.
- Coupon Value: Specify the discount amount.
- Coupon Expiry Date: Select the date after which the coupon becomes invalid.
2. Advanced Settings #
Restriction settings allow you to control where and how the coupon can be used.
- Limit Coupons to Trips: Choose one or more trips where the coupon will be accepted.
- Coupon Usage Limit: Specify how many times the coupon can be redeemed.
- Coupon User: Assign the coupon to specific registered users. Only the selected users will be able to use the coupon.
User-Specific Coupon Feature: #
Available since WP Travel v5.0.0, the User-Specific Coupon feature allows administrators to assign coupons directly to individual users. When an assigned user logs into the website and books a trip, the assigned coupon code is automatically displayed in the Coupon field of the booking section. The user simply needs to click Apply Coupon, and the applicable discount is instantly applied to the booking, making the checkout process faster and more convenient.
Frontend Coupon Display #
The assigned coupon code is displayed automatically inside the booking cart, making checkout quicker and reducing the chances of users forgetting their coupon.
View the Coupons List #
Navigate to: WP Travel โ Coupons
The Coupons List displays all available coupons together with their important information.
- Coupon Code: Displays the unique coupon code.
- Discount Value: Displays the configured fixed amount or percentage discount.
- Max Uses: Shows the maximum number of times the coupon can be used.
- Usage Count: Displays the number of times the coupon has been redeemed.
- Expiration Date: Shows the coupon’s expiry date.
- Status: Indicates whether the coupon is Active or Expired.
Note: If two coupons share the same coupon code, the plugin will apply the coupon that was created first.
Edit an Existing Coupon #
To modify a coupon:
- Navigate to WP Travel โ Coupons.
- Hover over the coupon.
- Click Edit.
- Update the desired settings.
- Click Update.
