WP Travel Plugin is fully translation-ready, meaning most of its strings can be translated using popular tools like the Loco Translate plugin. However, when it comes to the tab titles (e.g., Overview, Itinerary, Cost, etc.) on a single trip page, it’s a bit different.
Why Can’t Tab Titles Be Translated Using Loco Translate?
Tab titles in WP Travel are not hardcoded they are editable fields that you can customize from the admin panel. Because of this, Loco Translate (or other gettext-based translation plugins) wonβt detect these fields for translation. Youβll need to manually add translations for each tab.
Translating Tabs: Step-by-Step
Case 1: If Youβre Using Global Tabs Layout
If you have enabled the βUse Global Tabs Layoutβ option:
- Go to Admin Panel > WP Travel > Settings > Tabs
- For each tab, enter the translated version of the tab title under the respective language settings (if using a multilingual plugin like WPML or Polylang).
- Save changes.
Case 2: If Youβre Using Individual Trip Tabs
- If you have disabled the βUse Global Tabs Layoutβ option and are customizing tabs per trip:
- Go to Admin Panel > Trips > [Your Trip] > Tabs
- Manually add the translated string for each tab title in the appropriate language.
- Update the trip.
This gives you full control over individual tab translations per trip.
You can see the translated tab strings on the frontend after saving the changes.
