Google Maps
Step 1: Open Map Settings
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to WP Travel β Settings β General.
- Scroll to the Map section.
Step 2: Select Google Maps
- From the Map Provider dropdown, select Google Maps.
Step 3: Add Your Google Maps API Key
- Locate the Google Maps API Key field.
- Generate an API key from the Google Cloud Console if you don’t already have one.
- Paste the API key into the field.
- Click Save Settings.
Note: Ensure that the required Google Maps APIs are enabled for your API key.
Step 4: Add Trip Locations
- Go to Trips β All Trips.
- Edit the desired trip.
- Open the Locations section.
- Search for and select the destination.
- Update the trip.
Step 5: Verify the Map
Visit the trip page on the frontend to confirm that the map is displayed correctly.
HERE Maps (WP Travel Pro)
HERE Maps is available through the WP Travel Pro module and can be used as an alternative to Google Maps.
Step 1: Enable HERE Maps
- Enable the HERE Maps from module after WP Travel Pro is activated
Step 2: Open Map Settings
- Navigate to WP Travel β Settings β General.
- Scroll to the Map section.
Step 3: Select Here Map
- Choose HERE Maps under the Map Provider option.
Step 4: Configure HERE Maps Settings
After selecting HERE Maps as your map provider, configure the following settings:
- Use App Key (Optional): Enable this option if you want to authenticate using an API Key instead of an App ID and App Code.
- App ID: Enter your HERE Maps App ID to authenticate the HERE Maps service.
- App Code: Enter the corresponding App Code associated with your App ID.
- Marker Style: Choose the default marker icon or upload a custom marker to display trip locations.
- Map Zoom Level: Set the default zoom level for maps displayed on your trip pages. Higher values provide a closer view, while lower values display a larger area.
Note: Save your changes after entering the required credentials. If the map does not appear on the frontend, verify that your HERE Maps credentials are valid and that a location has been added to the trip.
Step 7: Add Trip Locations
- Open the desired trip
- Add its location under the Locations section.

Open the trip page and ensure the HERE Map loads correctly.
MapQuest
MapQuest provides another alternative for displaying trip locations.
Step 1: Install the WP Travel MapQuest Add-on
- Navigate to Plugins β Add New.
- Search for WP Travel MapQuest.
- Install and activate the plugin.
Step 2: Select MapQuest
- Go to:
- WP Travel β Settings β General
- Select MapQuest as the map provider.
Step 3: Enter Your API Key
- Paste your MapQuest API key into the corresponding field and save the settings.
- You can also adjust the default map zoom level.
Step 4: Add Locations
- Edit a trip and enter the destination under the Locations section.
Step 5: Verify the Map
Visit the trip page to ensure the map displays correctly.
