WP Travel offers a variety of shortcodes to help you display trips based on different filters and criteria. One powerful option is to group upcoming fixed departure trips by month, offering users an organized, calendar-like view of your scheduled tours.
For more information, refer to the Recurring Date feature page
Note: This feature has been available since WP Travel version 10.3.0.
Table of Contents
To use this feature, implement the following shortcode:
[WP_TRAVEL_ITINERARIES_BY_MONTHS days_offset="0"]- The
days_offset="0"parameter ensures that trips are listed starting from today (no offset). - You can place this shortcode on any page or in any section of a page, whether youβre using the Classic Editor, Gutenberg blocks, or Elementor shortcode widgets.
Hereβs how the trips will be displayed when using the shortcode on your website frontend:
How does it work?
- Displays trips that have configured fixed departure dates.
- Automatically groups trips by their upcoming departure month.
- Filters out past trips based on todayβs date.
Important notes
- This shortcode works only with trips using the βFixed Departureβ trip type.
- It does not support:
- Recurring trip schedules (weekly/monthly)
- Duration-only trips without specific start dates
Conclusion
Displaying upcoming fixed departure trips grouped by month significantly enhances the user experience on your travel website. It allows visitors to easily browse available trips by timeframe, plan ahead, and make quicker booking decisions. By adding this shortcode to any page or section, you present your trips in a clear, organized, and engaging format, boosting both visibility and conversions.
