WP TravelΒ now allows you to createΒ custom checkout fieldsΒ for specific trips based onΒ trip types or trip IDs. This feature enables you to collectΒ trip-specific informationΒ from customers during the booking process, offering greater flexibility and a more personalized booking experience.
How to Set Custom Checkout Fields
Step 1: Navigate to Field Editor
- Go to Admin Panel > WP Travel > Settings > Trips > Field editor >Traveler Info Fields
- Here youβll see a list of existing global checkout fields.

Step 2: Add a New Field
- Click Add New Field.

- Configure the following options:
- Field Label: The name of the field displayed to customers on the checkout page.
- Name: A unique identifier used internally for the field.
- Field Type: Choose the input type, such as Text, Select, Checkbox, Radio, etc.
- Class: Add custom CSS classes for styling, if required.
- Placeholder: Placeholder text shown inside the field to guide users.
- Validation: Define validation rules (e.g., email, number, text).
- Remove Field for All Travelers: Enable this option if the field should be shown only once per booking instead of for each traveler.
- Required for All Travelers: Enable this option to make the field mandatory for every traveler.

Step 3: Enable it to show on specific trips only.
Under the For Specific Trips section, choose where the field should appear:
- Specific Trip
Display the field only on selected trips by entering their Trip IDs - Trip Type
Display the field on all trips belonging to a specific trip type
Only the selected trips or trip types will display this field on the checkout page.

Step 4: Save Changes
Click Save Field. The field will now appear on the checkout page for the assigned trips or trip types only.
