In WP Travel, each trip is categorized as a custom post type, and the Trip ID corresponds to the WordPress Post ID. There are multiple ways to view the Trip ID in WP Travel, depending on whether you are working in the WordPress admin area (backend) or need it for frontend usage.

Method 1. In the WordPress Admin Dashboard

You can easily find the Trip ID without opening the trip:

  • Go to Trips > All Trips in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Hover your mouse over the trip title.
  • Look at the bottom-left corner of your browser window.

You’ll see a link like this:

Hovering over trip edit to view the trip id in WP Travel
http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=16&action=edit

Here 16 is the Trip ID.

Method 2. In the URL of the Trip Edit Page

Another way to get the Trip ID is directly from the edit screen:

  • Click to edit any trip from Trips > All Trips.
  • Look at the browser’s address bar while on the edit screen.
  • You’ll see a URL similar to:
Viewing the trip id on the URL directly from the trip edit page
http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=16&action=edit

Again, 16 is the Trip ID.

Conclusion

Knowing the Trip ID is helpful when working with shortcodes, custom code, or debugging issues in WP Travel. Whether you’re an admin managing trips or a developer adding custom features, viewing the Trip ID is quick and easy using either the dashboard hover method or by checking the edit page URL.
