Instant Payment Notification (IPN) allows WP Travel to receive real-time payment notifications from PayPal. This ensures that bookings are automatically updated after a successful payment.
Before testing or accepting payments, configure IPN in your PayPal account by following the steps below. These instructions apply to both PayPal Live and PayPal Sandbox accounts.
Configure PayPal IPN
- Log in to your PayPal account. If you are testing payments, log in to your PayPal Sandbox Business account.
- Click the Settings (gear) icon.
- Navigate to Seller Tools.
- Under Instant Payment Notifications (IPN), click Update.
- Click Choose IPN Settings.
- Β Enter your website’s IPN URL using the following format:
YOU SITE URL?wp_travel_listener=IPN)
Eg: (https://developer.paypal.com/?wp_travel_listener=IPN)
- Select Receive IPN Messages (Enabled).
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Additional Steps for PayPal Sandbox
- Go to Wallet.
- Ensure that you have added the same currency that is configured on your website.
