ParticipantAnother day, another question from me.
I would like to have my blog page look like the one in the demo. 1) I think I have right sidebar selected in page editor but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have other pages that seem to work fine with that selected in page editor. I see that I can change the general layout in Customize and it will do that, but doing that changes The Map page which I don’t want a side bar on 2) Still the blog page, my pictures are a bit smaller than the demo. Is that because the original files are just smaller or can I resize them? I tried increasing the Media Width option in the Additional CSS area but it didn’t seem to do anything to the blog page.
Finally (for today, ha ha), I guess I don’t understand how the Caption box in the Featured Image is supposed to work. I have written a caption for one (Frank Lloyd Wright Map featured image) but I don’t see it. I thought I would. Can you advise on that?
I really appreciate your help. I feel like the site is getting to where I want every time I hear back from you guys.

KeymasterHello @stevecasteel2013,
Actually, this is how the theme works. The Sidebar Layout options will only work for other pages but not the page that you have selected to display the list of page i.e. blog page. The Blog page will follow the layout that is chosen from the customizer layout option.
As for the image option please upload the image of bigger size i.e. approx 600X400 px and also regenerate your thumbnail using the any of the regenerating plugin.
As for the query related to caption box, we are not quite clear which section you are referring to. If you meant by the post that appears in the front page section then it the title of the posts that appears above the image. So if you want to change the title then you can go to individual post edit screen and change the title.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards!!

ParticipantHi,
1)As soon as I read your response I realized what was going on. I’ve got it. Thanks.
2) Ok
3)This may be a WordPress thing now that I’m looking at it but let me try to explain again. In the Post Editor there is a Featured Image area. Clicking on set feature image a new frame pops up Featured Image. Once I select an image from the media, on the right I see a thumbnail of the image with its data. Below that I see a URL field, Title field, and below that a Caption field. I have written a test caption in there but I don’t see it when I go to the blog entry.
In the WordPress forum it says how it will look will depend on your theme so I thought you guys may have a suggestion. I would like a caption under the Featured Image in the individual blog post. Am I making sense?
Thanks again,
Steve

ParticipantHi again,
I have since doubled checked the size of my images being used on the blog. They are 1600 X 1200.
I tried using a regenerating plugin on one of the images as a test, to o discernible effect.
Thoughts?

KeymasterHello @stevecasteel2013,
Firs of all our sincere apology in the delay in replying to you.
Currently, the theme has the feature where the caption added to the featured will not be displayed under the featured image.
As for the images please post your site URL so that we can inspect further and help you.
Thank you 🙂 .

ParticipantHi,
I want to make sure I am understanding you when you say size. When you say 600x600px I understand that to mean dimension. Am I not correct thinking that?
Here is a screenshot from my media library of the very same image you sent me above:
In the image metadata at the top right it says: 1563×1156
Are we not talking about the same thing?
Thanks

ParticipantHi,
I finally got it to go. Doing the steps 1 and 3 in order is what did it. I did some images with all three steps but I think step 2 was degrading the quality of the image. I skipped that step and they turned out fine. Thank you for your help.
