A subdomain is an extra part that you can add to your domain name. To have a subdomain, you need to have a primary domain. After having a primary domain, you can add a subdomain to it.
Like if your domain name is mysite.com. Then you can add a subdomain to mysite.com, which is a primary domain. For example, subdomain.mysite.com.
A sub-directory is a directory located within a parent directory. A parent directory contains many subdirectories. For example, www.mysite.com/wordpress/.
How do you find your WordPress login URL when you have installed WordPress with a hosting provider?
If you have installed a WordPress site with a hosting service provider, then you can simply find your login URL by adding /login/ or /admin/ at the end of your URL like this:
- www.mysite.com/login/
- www.mysite.com/admin/
Somehow, if this WordPress login URL doesn’t work, you can add /wp-login.php/ at the end of your URL like this:
- www.mysite.com/wp-login.php

How can you find the login URL on a sub-directory?
You can host your WordPress site in a subdirectory. In that case, you need to search in the following way to find your WordPress login URL:
- www.mysite.com/wordpress/admin/
- www.mysite.com/wordpress/login/
- www.mysite.com/wordpress/wp-login.php

You can avoid this hassle by simply clicking the “remember me” box located below your password entry box.

How to change the WordPress login URL and create a customized one?
You can create a custom login URL with or without a plugin. But it is safer and more user-friendly to customize your login URL with a plugin. There are lots of plugins out there that will do this work for you. But we suggest using WPS Hide Login to customize your WordPress login URL. With this plugin, you can easily and safely create a custom login URL.
As a result, the WordPress default login URL will not work to access your login page. If you deactivate the WPS Hide Login plugin, your site will revert to its previous state.
First, install and activate the WPS Hide Login plugin to create a custom login URL.
Then go to your admin dashboard and visit Settings>> WPS Hide Login.
